At first sight it may seem strange that some people elect to go travel hundreds or even thousands of miles to study in another country where they could just as easily from a similar course of study in their own country.
But there are many reasons why people choose to study abroad, and they are all very valid.
Firstly there is the question of what courses are available where. While you may well be able to study art history in an American> College or university for example, there may be a particularly well known and revered course in an Australian university which pleases many more.
In addition to learning is not only the course itself. It's all about experiencing life in another country whose values and lifestyles may be very different from yours. In this sense, you keep learning, even when you're not in class, since you'll be interacting with many people and different places andtaking in an environment that will lead you to become a better rounded and well balanced person. Explore different cultures as it helps us gain a better understanding of how the world works.
Studying abroad also helps you grow as a person. In an age where you are probably starting to feel like an adult for the first time, you can really stretch your legs and gain your independence in planning and learning to benefit your future.
