There was a time when each American generation thought that the next generation would do better than themselves. A good university education leading to employment in a company for thirty years. The American dream is slipping as in the K12 systems across the country. Too few students are prepared to function in a world that is filled with computer technology. Students should be exposed to technology early. Some say that the analysis of changes in the American dream, looking at primary school is not appropriate. The country needs to look long termhow every citizen is ready for future job applications. The types of jobs that students must complete K12 require different types of skills that must be part of their training current.
There is a sea change occurring in financial markets that the families of funding to pay for K12 education and college. People who have a decent income, find it more difficult to get a loan with a good interest rate. It puts a higher pressureon families to save more money. Unfortunately, saving money can be difficult when a couple lives in a big city. The inability to obtain interest rates may just require students to take loans with higher interest rates which will last 30 years.
All peoples of the world still come to the United States with the expectation of the American dream. The dream that they can start a new life and greater freedom continues to attract to this country.
